8,100.00 $
The Automatic Gummed Paper Tape Sealer JA-801 seals cartons top and bottom with water-activated paper tape for 100% plastic-free packaging. It creates a tamper-evident bond that strengthens boxes. Pairs well with our Eco-Friendly Gummed Paper Tape. Part of our Green Packaging Equipment range.
Key Features
- Dual-Surface Sealing: Simultaneously applies gummed paper tape to both the top and bottom of the carton for maximum efficiency.
- Precision Moistening System: Features an advanced internal heating and brush system that ensures optimal adhesive activation, even in cold warehouse environments.
- Eco-Conscious Automation: Designed specifically for reinforced and non-reinforced paper tapes, helping you eliminate plastic waste from your fulfillment line.
- Side-Belt Drive System: High-grip side belts ensure smooth, consistent carton transport, preventing jams and ensuring perfectly centered tape application.
- Rugged Industrial Build: Constructed with a heavy-duty steel frame and high-quality pneumatic components for 24/7 high-volume operations.
Product Description & Specifications
The JA-801 Automatic Gummed Paper Tape Sealer is the “green” alternative to standard industrial case sealers. By using starch-based adhesive tape, it creates a “fiber-to-fiber” bond that becomes part of the box. This not only makes the package nearly impossible to open without detection but also allows the entire carton to be thrown directly into the recycling bin without removing the tape.
With its manual height and width adjustment, it is a versatile workhorse for production lines running batches of consistent box sizes.

Green Comparison: JA-801 vs. Standard Plastic (BOPP) Tape Case Sealer
While standard plastic tape sealers are common, the JA-801 offers a superior ecological profile and enhanced security. Here is how the two methods compare:
| Feature | JA-801 (WAT Green Solution) | Standard Plastic Tape Sealer |
| Material Origin | Renewable: Made from kraft paper and starch-based adhesives. | Petroleum-Based: Made from biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP). |
| Recyclability | 100% Recyclable: Can be recycled along with the box; no need to strip tape. | Contaminant: Plastic tape must be filtered out during recycling, often ending up in landfills. |
| Seal Strength | Fiber-to-Fiber Bond: The adhesive penetrates the box, making the tape part of the carton. | Surface Adhesion: Sits on top of the cardboard; can peel off in high heat or humidity. |
| Security | Tamper-Evident: Cannot be opened without leaving visible damage to the box. | Low Security: Can often be peeled off and replaced without immediate detection. |
| Chemical Impact | Non-Toxic: Uses natural starch adhesives; safe for food-related environments. | Synthetic: Uses chemical pressure-sensitive adhesives that can off-gas. |
| Quantity Required | One Strip: A single strip of paper tape is usually sufficient for a secure seal. | Multiple Strips: Operators often “double-tape” or use “H-seals” to ensure the box stays closed. |
The “Green” Advantage
The JA-801 allows your business to move toward a Circular Economy. By using the JA-801, you are not just changing a machine; you are changing your waste stream. Traditional plastic tape is a major contaminant in the paper recycling process; by switching to Water-Activated Tape, you ensure that your shipping materials are 100% plastic-free and can be fully repurposed into new paper products without extra processing or chemical stripping.
Applications
The JA-801 is ideal for industries where security, sustainability, and presentation are paramount:
- E-commerce & Fulfillment: Securely seals high-value goods against “press-and-grab” theft.
- Electronics: Provides a dust-proof seal that protects sensitive components.
- Food & Beverage: Uses non-toxic, starch-based adhesives safe for secondary food packaging.
- Export Logistics: Durable paper tape holds up better than plastic in extreme temperature changes during shipping.
What to Consider When Choosing a WAT Sealer
- Volume: If you seal more than 100–200 cartons per day, an automatic sealer like the JA-801 offers a rapid ROI compared to manual dispensers.
- Box Variability: The JA-801 requires manual adjustment for height/width. If your line handles “random” box sizes every few seconds, you may require a fully random automatic model.
- Tape Strength: Decide if you need Reinforced (fiberglass strands) for heavy loads or Non-Reinforced for a 100% paper, premium aesthetic.
- Footprint: Ensure your conveyor line has approximately 2 meters of space for the machine and proper in-feed/out-feed.
